Overview of the USF Graduate Student Research Symposium

Current Event Website: 9th Annual USF Graduate Student Research Symposium

Annually, the Office of Graduate Studies and the Graduate and Professional Student Council (GPSC) hosts the Graduate Student Research Symposium to showcase the research of graduate students in all disciplines and allow them to obtain feedback from faculty and peers. The event brings together graduate students and post-doctoral scholars as well as faculty mentors and judges in an effort to foster further academic collaboration. All graduate students are encouraged to apply; however, students without previous conference experience will greatly benefit from participating in this event and are highly encouraged to apply.

The winners of this event qualify to move onto the Statewide Research Symposium and represent USF in competition with graduate student researchers from other Florida univerisities and network them. The Inaugural Statewide Research Symposium event was held here at USF in 2013 and was designed to showcase the best graduate-level research being carried out across Florida.

The Inaugural Statewide Research Symposium event was held here at USF in 2013 and was designed to showcase the best graduate-level research being carried out across Florida. Building on this legacy, other universities have hosted the event annually. This year, the Statewide Research Symposium is returning home to USF! The event will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017. More information can be found at the event website listed above. The day usually consists of a two-hour poster session with each student receiving feedback from two faculty members in their area of study and a reception afterwards where each school is able to have a group photo taken.
