  24. Course Description: An overview of the statistical tools that allow typical business data to be analyzed. ANOVA, multiple linear regression, and tests of hypothesis are emphasized.

This course is needed by all USFSP MBA students who do not have an academic background in business or whose undergraduate courses in statistics were taken more than 7 years before entering the MBA program.

  29. Objectives: The objective of this course is to provide students with a working knowledge of the theory and application of various statistical tests for analyzing a variety of business situations.
  30. Learning Outcomes: Upon the completion of this course students should be able to:

    1) Determine which treatment(s) within a factor is/are the best to recommend.

    2) Determine if two sets of data are statistically equal.

    3) Model certain business situations using multiple linear regression.

  34. Student Expectations/Requirements and Grading Policy: Students will take an online quiz after each of the 4 chapters listed above. A student must score 80% or above on each chapter quiz to be awarded a passing grade (S=Satisfactory) for the course.
  35. Assignments, Exams and Tests: The following chapters from the Donnelly text are covered. Students will be expected to study these chapters. Students must take an online quiz for each chapter. These are the only exams and requirements for the course.

    Chapter 15 Multiple Linear Regression

    Chapter 16 Forecasting

    A score of 80% or above on each chapter quiz is required to receive a passing grade (S=Satisfactory) for this course.

  36. Attendance Policy: No first class attendance policy due to the nature of this course. Students can begin the class at any time. There are no scheduled exams. Students take the exams according to their own schedules. The schedule for the course is not part of the regular semester, so there are no religious conflicts. Students can alter when they take the online exams based on their own personal needs.

    There is no time limit as when the student must complete this course. Students can take as long as they want, even in excess of a year or more, to complete the exams. Thus, there will be no conflict with religious holidays as the date a student takes an exam, as well as when they can finish the course, is entirely at their own discretion.
