This course has been offered every fall semester since the Fall 2002 as a special topics course. This course is vital to the success of students with an interest in materials physics, as well as those in other areas interested in breadth.

The course will introduce students to the structure and properties of materials, including the physical and chemical origins of fundamental properties.
