  24. Course Description: This course provides a systematic approach for the assessment of public health interventions in low resource countries by providing tools and skills to collect, retrieve, manage, assemble, analyze and communicate information at the community level.

  26. What is the need or demand for this course? (Indicate if this course is part of a required sequence in the major.) What other programs would this course service? Currently the course has a computer lab to instruct students on the use of a statistical software program called Epi-info. After having taught the course for three years it has been shown that the Epi-info software should not be specific to this course, but shared and integrated with Global Health Applications in the Field (PHC 6442). PHC6442 is currently a two credit course that is being changed to three credits to accommodate this revision. Students will benefit by having the knowledge and skills to learn and apply the software program in both courses.
