    Course Description

    Practicum for the synthesis of skills, knowledge, and values for management of individuals with cardiopulmonary and endocrine related movement disorders complemented by direct patient care learning. Restricted to majors. Repeatable for 1 credit hour.

    1. Identify key questions to include in the history and systems review.

    2. Justify the selection of tests and measures for an initial examination

    3. Perform an initial examination in an efficient, effective manner.

    4. Determine a diagnosis.

    5. Establish a plan of care for a given patient/client including

    a. short and long term goals

    b. duration and frequency of interventions

    c. appropriate referrals

    6. Provide physiological rationale and/or scientific rationale for an efficient, effective plan of care.

    7. Perform selected interventions in the plan of care.

    8. Efficiently and effectively, document the history, systems review, examination results, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, and interventions.

    9. Predict the functional outcome for the patient/client with sound scientific rationale for the prediction.

    10. Identify cultural/social influences that would positively or negatively impact the plan of care.

    11. Identify potential legal and/or ethical concerns that may impact the plan of care.
