Biography:
I am a 31-year old Greek American who has lived in
Florida for 25 years. Both of my parents were born
and raised in Greece. I began my studies, at USF, in
the fall of 1993. I obtained a Bachelor of English
in the fall of 1999. From the years of 2002-2005, as
an English as a Second Language instructor, I
educated adults and children from diverse cultural
backgrounds. In the fall of 2002, I moved to France
to spend one year as an English instructor training
individuals to become primary school teachers within
France. In the spring of 2003, I obtained a graduate
certificate in
Teaching English as a Second Language from USF.
I am currently in the Master’s Program in
Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. In
regards to my aspirations and personal goals, once I
have completed my academic requirements, I foresee
working with adolescents who have substance abuse
and mental health concerns as a Licensed Mental
Health Practitioner. I would like to eventually
begin a Ph. D program in
Public Administration with a legal focus on the
ethics of providing rehabilitation services on a
cross-cultural level.
I initially chose USF because the campus was close
to where my family lives, in Tarpon Springs.
Eventually, I found that I had established a strong
tie to the city and close friendships. I see Tampa
as my home.
