The Graduate School at
the University of South Florida provides over a
million dollars annually in diverse student funding
as well as workshops and a summer program that
promotes and encourages diverse student success."

Funding for diverse students is a high priority at
USF to help attract and retain some of the best
students in the nation. Applications for these
awards are posted on the website in the Fall
semester. The deadline for all applications is
February 1st of each year.
GRADUATE DIVERSITY AND ACCESS FELLOWSHIP
This fellowship provides full-time tuition plus a
2-year, $8,000 annual stipend for master's-level and
a 3-year, $12,000 annual stipend for doctoral-level
students. Strong consideration is given to
academically talented students who are traditionally
underrepresented in graduate programs pursuing
graduate degrees in underrepresented disciplines
such as physics, engineering, philosophy, marine
science, mathematics, psychology, and selected
disciplines in education (i.e., math, science and
special education).
McNAIR DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP
This fellowship provides full-time tuition plus a
3-year, $15,000 annual stipend for 5 USF
doctoral-level students who have graduated from
regional national Ronald E. McNair programs.
Students must present strong evidence of
undergraduate research experience and academic
talent.
W.E.B. DU BOIS GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP
This need-based fellowship provides full-time
tuition plus a 2-year, $8,000 annual stipend for
master's-level and a 3-year, $12,000 annual stipend
for doctoral-level students. Open to students
demonstrating need (determined by FAFSA) with strong
consideration given to academically talented
students who are first-generation aspirants pursuing
graduate degrees in underrepresented disciplines.
PAN AMERICAN FELLOWSHIP
This need-based fellowship provides full-time
tuition plus a 2-year, $8,000 annual stipend for
master's-level and a 3-year, $12,000 annual stipend
for doctoral-level students. Open to bilingual
(Spanish/English) students demonstrating need
(determined by FAFSA) with strong consideration
given to academically talented students who are
first-generation aspirants pursuing graduate degrees
in underrepresented disciplines.
GRADUATE DIVERSITY & ACCESS SUMMER PROGRAM
This program is designed to prepare new graduate
students for academic success at the University of
South Florida. Strong consideration is given to
students who are traditionally underrepresented in
graduate programs. The participant is granted a
$1,300 summer stipend and is required to enroll in a
summer graduate courses in their discipline. The
student is also required to attend weekly workshops
sessions involving aspects of graduate study such as
the use of the library, mentoring, coping
strategies, research and writing, and time and
stress management. |
