Development and Public Policy; Ethnicity and
Identity; Social Networks

Engaged in a fulfilling career.
If you had the time or the money—which charity or
volunteer effort would you support? Do you volunteer
now—if so with who?
Runaway Hotline; Services for the Teenage
Parent. I do not currently volunteer but will when I get more time in my
schedule.

Biography:
I was born in Chicago, Illinois and completed
undergraduate studies at
Northwestern University. I moved to Florida in
2000 and earned a M.A. in Anthropology from the
University of Florida in 2002. I have two sons
(ages 21 and 23) and one daughter (age 17). I am currently a doctoral student in
the
Department of Applied Anthropology and,
beginning in January 2007, a Master’s student in
Instructional
Technology. I have a
Graduate Certificate in Instructional Technology-Web
Design. My research interests are transnationalism, Diasporas,
development, ethnic identity and cyberculture. My geographic areas of study are
Latin America and the Caribbean. I enjoy reading, movies, cooking, and travel.
