Dr. Gladis Kersaint, associate professor of
mathematics education in The David C. Anchin Center
at the College of Education, has been awarded a $5.9
million grant from the Florida Department of
Education to develop professional development
programs for Florida science and mathematics
teachers, many of whom are teaching out-of-field due
to a statewide shortage of mathematics and science
