Deadlines and meeting dates

COURSES
We are the in process of launching a new Graduate Curriculum Submission System. The course form you will complete is now housed within the Graduate School (formerly it was within Undergraduate Studies as the SCNS liaison office). We appreciate your patience as we work through initial launch issues and continue to improve the process. USF Tampa Course Procedures

  1. Select Action:
  2. New Graduate Course Form.
  3. Change or Terminate a Graduate Course Form.
  4. Complete the appropriate form above and Click Submit.
  5. To view what you submitted click on this link:  http://www.grad.usf.edu/programs/grad_course_status.php
  6. Find the course, click on it to open, and print out a copy.
  7. If you need to Edit the course, click on the "Edit Course" button at the top and enter your password to make changes
  8. Complete:         Graduate Curriculum Approval Form
  9. If the course is part of an existing or new program, attach a copy of the program requirements from the catalog and note where the new course fits in to the program. Have any of the requirements changed (i.e. is this a required course, an elective, etc.; are any other courses being terminated and replaced by this       course?)
  10. After College approval, email one complete set to the Graduate School- chines-cobb@grad.usf.edu

  12. Once approved, all courses must have a syllabus that complies with the Provost's Course Syllabi Policy. To review the policy go to: http://www.acad.usf.edu/Resources/Documents/Policies/course-syllabi.htm

Routing for Courses:   

  • Faculty creates proposal and submits to online system (see procedures above)
  • Faculty checks for issues of concurrence/duplication of offerings.If any are noted, faculty contacts those departments for concurrence/discussion
  • Faculty submits proposal to Department and College Curriculum Committee (if applicable). Note: colleges have own internal procedures and deadlines; check with college for information
  • College Curriculum Committee submits to College Associate Dean
  • College Associate Dean submits to Graduate School for preparation for Graduate Council review
  • Graduate Council Curriculum Committee reviews proposal (meeting dates)
  • Graduate School notifies faculty of approval/disapproval
  • Graduate School submits course to Undergraduate Studies(UGS)/USF SCNS Liaison office for submission to the State Course Numbering System (SCNS) for state approval
  • Once approved by the State, UGS notifies the Registrar's office for the course to be entered into Banner and scheduled
  • Once approved by the State, faculty may update the Program/Course information in the next Graduate Catalog
